Kindle Fire was a success when it was released, so it’s no wonder that Amazon decided to release the successor to its famous tablet.
Unlike the older model, Kindle Fire HD 7-inch tablet comes with high-resolution 7-inch IPS touchscreen display that uses 1280×800 resolution, and it’s using Advanced True Wide polarizing filter and custom laminated touch sensor. Speaking of touchscreen, unlike its predecessor, Kindle Fire HD 7 supports 10-point multitouch which is a definitely an improvement from 2-point multitouch that the previous model used.
As for hardware, new Kindle Fire is using 1.2Ghz dual-core OMAP4460 processor and it comes equipped with front-facing camera and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio. Regarding connectivity, this tablet features dual-band, dual-antenna, MIMO WiFi, as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
There’s also a HDMI output, so you can play your multimedia content on HDTV as well. As for the battery life, Kindle Fire HD can provide you with up to 11 hours of battery life.
New Kindle Fire is running a custom system based on Android 4.0, and it comes with some Amazon-exclusive features.
As for the price, Kindle Fire HD is available in two versions, 16GB and 32GB, and they are priced at $199 and $249 respectively.
